Plexr® Skin Tightening & Minor Skin Lesion Removal
Plasma energy sublimation—non-surgical tissue tightening and lesion removal using ionised gas which precisely removes tissue without scalpel incision.
Plexr® technology uses plasma discharge—ionised gas that sublimates (vaporises) tissue without cutting. This allows precise removal of lesions and skin tightening through controlled micro-injuries that trigger tissue contraction and collagen remodelling.
Professor MacKenzie performs Plexr® using surgical precision: understanding tissue depth requirements, controlling energy delivery for consistent outcomes, creating uniform tightening and reducing the risk of complications.
Applications: Non-surgical upper and lower eyelid tightening (addressing laxity without blepharoplasty), perioral lines improvement, skin tag removal without excision, benign lesion ablation (seborrheic keratoses, xanthelasma, syringomas), stretch mark improvement, acne scars and small areas of pigmentation.
Technique advantages: No scalpel required. Plasma removes tiny areas of tissue, precise depth control, immediate tissue contraction is visible, particularly effective for eyelid tightening where surgery is undesirable.
Surgical perspective: Professor MacKenzie recognises when Plexr® is appropriate versus when surgical excision or blepharoplasty is indicated. Plexr® suits mild-moderate laxity; severe cases require surgical referral. Her training ensures realistic outcome expectations.
This is plasma technology applied with surgical-level anatomical understanding—not cosmetic device treatment by minimally trained operators.
WHAT TO EXPECT

Local anaesthesia – by cream or injection.
Comfort
Immediate carbon-crust formation at treatment points, 3-5 days swelling, 5-7 days crusting phase, progressive tightening over 8-12 weeks as collagen remodels. The new skin will be pink for several weeks afterward.
Downtime
Full results seen at 3-12 months after tightening.
RESULTS
Skin lesion may recur. Skin tightening repeated at 12-24 months if desired, although some clients will need 2-3 treatments 2-3 months apart to get the best results for skin tightening.
Maintenance

Stage 1
Redness appears occasionally and is often triggered by hot drinks, spicy food, or exercise.

Stage 2
Redness becomes more consistent. Small visible blood vessels (telangiectasia) may appear.

Stage 3
Acne-like breakouts begin, without blackheads. Skin may feel sore or sensitive.

Stage 4
Skin may thicken, particularly around the nose (rhinophyma).

Stage 5
In rare cases, severe rosacea - called phymatous rosacea - can lead to the development of rhinophyma - a bulbous enlargement of the nose, most common in men. Rosacea can also be ocular when it is located on the eyelids, conjunctiva and cornea, manifesting itself as red, watery and very dry eyes.
